NILE Webinar: Immunization Requirements for Child Care Centers
Tuesday, July 30 from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. (PST)

Immunize Nevada is pleased to host this training via toll-free web-conference. This program offers one free nursing CEU and one free ECE credit. Attendees wishing to obtain a CEU or ECE must complete a pre- and post-test evaluation, which will be sent out one day prior to the webinar and just after the webinar.

Program:

The July NILE presentation discusses immunization issues relating to children 0-6 years old, and includes details on the importance of vaccines, typical vaccine schedules and requirements for child care centers. Immunization resources for child care centers will be shared with information on how to access training for WebIZ, Nevada’s immunization registry.
Learning Objectives Include:
1. Identify at least 3 reasons why it is important to immunize children and adults.
2. Identify three vaccines that are required for children less than 12 months old in child care centers.
3. Describe at least one immunization resource for child care centers.
4. Define WebIZ and how to obtain training for WebIZ used for child care centers.

JoAnn Rupiper, RN, BSN, MPH
JoAnn Rupiper is a Community Health Nurse Supervisor for the Immunization Program at the Southern Nevada Health District. She is a graduate of University of WI-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She recently completed a Master’s degree in Public Health at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. JoAnn has been a nurse for 32 years with 22 years in public health. She moved to Las Vegas five years ago from Wisconsin to escape the cold winters.
