Gearing Up for National Infant Immunization Week

National Immunization Awareness Week (NIIW) is the annual observance that highlights the importance of protecting infants from vaccine-preventable diseases and celebrates the achievements of immunization programs and partners in promoting healthy communities. Please join us on February 28th to hear the latest information that will help you plan your events and activities for NIIW which will take place April 22-29, 2017.

Participants will learn about NIIW planning tools, digital communication resources, and CDC activities planned for the week. Presenters will share materials and resources available for a variety of audiences, including health care professionals and parents of young children.  Presenters will also highlight child care partnerships as one example of an approach for educating parents and child care providers about the importance of immunization during NIIW and beyond.  The Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI) will share their experiences working with child care providers.Webinar Objectives

  • Understand the goals and objectives of NIIW
  • Describe NIIW planning and promotional resources and CDC educational resources for parents and healthcare professionals
  • Discuss the potential role of child care partners for promoting infant immunization
  • Describe TAPI’s experience working with child care providers
